Frequently asked questions about private paper review
Every answer on this page is static text — readable without running JavaScript. The short version of most answers: the review runs on your device, your paper is not uploaded, and running reviews is free.
Does ReviewerAI send my paper to the cloud?
No. ReviewerAI runs the paper-review model locally in your browser. Your manuscript is not uploaded for review unless you choose a cloud-based action such as saving it to an account.
Where does the review actually run?
On your own computer, inside your browser tab. The app files download once, then the PDF is read and checked on your device. After the first load you can even keep working with a poor connection.
Is it really free?
Yes. Reviews run on your hardware, so there is no per-paper fee and no subscription for running reviews. If you have a computer, you can run as many reviews as you need.
Who is ReviewerAI for?
Students writing their first research paper, and researchers or faculty preparing manuscripts, proposals, or theses for submission. Anyone with a PDF and a browser can use it.
Does it replace peer review or my professor?
No. Human review is still essential. ReviewerAI is a pre-submission check: it finds missing information, unclear claims, and formatting gaps before the human experts spend their time on your draft.
What kind of feedback do I get?
A grouped list of findings: what the paper reports, what you should improve, and what needs a second look. Each finding links to the page and passage where it was found, with a concrete suggestion for what to fix.
Can it check whether my science is correct?
It flags unclear statements, logical inconsistencies, and weakly supported claims, but it does not verify that your methods, results, or data are correct. Subject-matter expertise is still required.
What files can I review?
PDF files with selectable text. Scanned images without a text layer cannot be read yet — export or print your paper as a real PDF first.
How long does a review take?
It depends on your hardware and the paper length. Short papers take a few minutes on a fast computer; long papers can take up to 20–30 minutes. A computer with a dedicated graphics card is fastest.
Is my paper stored or shared?
Only if you click save to store it in your account. Otherwise nothing is stored: close the tab and no copy of your paper remains on our systems.
Is my paper used to train AI models?
No. Your paper is used only to produce your review. It is never used to train future models.
How reliable is the feedback?
It is strong at finding editorial, structural, and reporting gaps — the fixable problems that cause rejections. It cannot guarantee acceptance, but it makes your draft measurably better before submission.
Does it understand specialized terminology?
Common scientific and technical terms are handled well. Very new or highly specialized vocabulary can be misread, so treat those findings as suggestions and use your judgment.
Will it give me an accept or reject verdict?
No. It shows strengths and weaknesses so you can improve the paper. Only a journal or a human reviewer can make an accept or reject decision.
What if my PDF fails to load or the review errors?
Check that the file is a valid PDF with selectable text and not corrupted. If problems persist, email info@realitywave.ai and describe what happened.
Can I save my review and come back later?
Yes. Saving to your account is optional and is the one step that sends data to our servers — it lets you reopen the review on another device.
